Fresh Stickies

a sampling of what’s currently sticky

(there’s more on the stickies page)

Vail needs a little space to do some thinking.

Vail Sticky is….we’re not sure yet, but we’re open to some suggestions…

  • place to share ideas for making/keeping Vail rad

  • megaphone for thoughtful valley voices

  • repository for fucks given

  • editorial page without a character limit

  • anarcho syndicalist collective

  • A trail map for local leadership

Let’s work it out as we go and see what sticks.

Get involved.

Vail Sticky was founded on the concept that some of the most impactful change in this world is accomplished with duct tape and post-it notes.

You are the sticky. If you have an idea about how to make Vail better - share it. We need thoughtful - inspiring - actionable thought leaders to contribute. Get in touch with us.

We also need an audience to amplify those voices. A like, share, tag, or email helps us build…whatever it is we are building here. See something intriguing that should have more eyeballs? Let us know.

We have no money or sponsors. We don’t sell anything. Our operating budget is fueled by free time, local inspiration, and the $200 it cost to build this website. Just some locals looking to accelerate action for the good for Vail.

 FAQs

  • You are. The thinkers, writers, speakers, and creators. The readers, watchers, and listeners. The byproduct of rubbing philosophers and voyeurs together is the friction that creates cohesive community vision.

  • It’s a concept you just can’t stop thinking about. It’s something worth exploring. It’s substance worth sharing.

Maybe it rubs off, maybe it sticks.

  • Our ideas shape the world around us - that world is Vail. We want to Vail to be the best it can be. Therefore we need to foster sticky ideas to shape Vail’s social, economic, and ecological landscape for the better.

  • Toss ideas around enough and sometimes they fall apart, sometimes they get hard and dull, and sometimes they get sticky.

Vail Speaks

  • What kind of pie are we?

Vail can be seen as fully cooked and ready to be divided, or a mix of ingredients that makes something extraordinary. I like to think we’re still coming together.

  • Sheep

What we choose to eat has the largest impact on wildlife. Colorado lamb is delicious and that’s the biggest threat to bighorns. No one is proposing giving up the chops.

  • Yodelers

In the 60’s Vail was described as “swiss shitty”. In the 70’s it was described as “Wisconsin swiss”. Yodelers have had their lederhosen in a bunch over building design since the beginning. Conflicting opinions on architecture is part of our culture.
